Who We Are
Andover was platted in 1886 and later incorporated as a city in 1910. We're a rural farm community with a small population and big country pride. A trip through our city will take you back to simpler times. Eastern Iowa's slice of Americana - The Friendly Community.
City Services
City Services - Water utilities, Trash pickup, Sewer, Parks/Recreation.
City bills can be paid at the office by appointment, placed in the drop box located in front of Clerk's office, by ACH (setup required) or mailed to P.O. Box 108, Andover, IA 52701.
To set up ACH for your monthly utility payments, please email the Clerks office if you're interested in signing up to have your utility bill auto drafted each month. *No cash accepted in person or in the drop box.
All City bills are due the 20th of each month.
Clerk's Corner
In February the council voted to begin the lagoon project. This will be a huge undertaking involving many agencies. We are working with several contracted companies to engineer, plan, assist with funding, and supervise the project from start to finish. The projected completion date is late 2025. More information will be posted here and at the city posting sites.
The weekend of March 23rd & 24th, a private company will be performing a survey, they will be going door to door. It's important that you take the survey, this will determine if we qualify for grant money to help pay for the lagoon project. The survey is private and confidential, the only information the council will receive from the survey is - pass or fail, to be eligible for grant money. Please take the survey, your community depends on it.
